Computer Science & Engineering Co-op
Hamilton Sundstrand is among the largest global suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and industrial products. We design and manufacture aerospace systems for commercial, regional, corporate and military aircraft and are a major supplier for international space programs. Our industrial products serve industries ranging from hydrocarbon, chemical and food processing to construction and mining.
Note: This position is for the June 2012 through December 2012 term.
Job Responsibilities:
Support plant site initiatives, projects, and activities including user applications and database development, hardware interfacing and configuration, and related IT support through:
- Designing professional applications, databases and/or hardware communications
- Generating software code for these applications using Microsoft Visual Studio
- Performing testing and troubleshooting of developed software
- Creating user and source documentation for developed software
- Conducting end-user training sessions
- Aiding in the improvement of current IT hardware/software systems
- Participation in cross-functional project teams
- Giving formal project presentations to plant site management
The Co-op will complete several projects using an agile development methodology applied to the entire application life cycle. In addition, the Co-op will learn and be exposed to the theories and practices of successful integration of IT systems (Systems Engineering) into a manufacturing operations business. This experience will allow the Co-op to better understand the connections between business results, process robustness, problem solving, and user friendly IT systems.

- Student must be enrolled in campus Co-op program at a 4-year university/college and meet the requirements for full-time student status.
- Minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA required.
- Completion of at least 30 credit hours. - Must be a U.S. Citizen or have Permanent Resident status (due to U.S. Government contract requirements).
Ideal Candidate will possess:
- Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio or comparable
- Experience with databases
- Understanding of object oriented programming
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
