Hot Section Engineering (HSE) is looking for well-qualified candidates to fill the role of HSE ACE (Continuous Improvement) Discipline Chief.

Responsibilities include:
- Create and improve ACE "standard work", and maintain/improve ACE "technology" (methods, tools, software, etc) for engineering/product development applications.
- Coach & mentor Black Belt & Engineering ACE C candidates in application of ACE tools to improve discipline engineering standard work (ESW), to complete discipline specific tasks with minimal waste and to ensure processes deliver high quality solutions that achieve design requirements of the Job Ticket, to develop solutions and risk management plans for new designs
- Lead or consult/facilitate on the most-visible, highest-impact organizational needs, issues and projects within HSE, our manufacturing facilities, and supply base. Lead robust root cause investigations and ensure viable corrective actions are implemented. Resolve high pain non-conformances, producibility and delivery issues. Provide active leadership of special initiatives to reduce product cost and scrap, rework & repair (SRR).
- Develop strategic plans to ensure HSE meets ACE Proficiency development goals. Ensure accurate ACE Proficiency plans and progress of proficiency development
- Identify & define projects to address top issues (both technical & non-technical), remove barriers to execution
- Connect projects with qualified leaders based on need
- Provide skills training and mentoring on Producibility & ACE topics including but not limited to ProCert, P/FMEA, DIVE, RRCA, DFV, DOE, VSM, RedX, DFSS, Lean Product Development, etc (includes class instruction)

Candidates must be able to work independently to gain consensus throughout the organization to implement strategies. Must be able to maintain a strong relationship with ACE experts in other engineering organizations. Leverage or seek out best practices and assist the value stream to accelerate One Company ACE Gold, utilizing the QCPC system to create awareness of opportunities to improve and document number of opportunities you identified. Advise the HSE ACE council on improvement opportunities, and application of ACE methods.


This is a highly visible position within the organization with frequent reports to the Hot Section Engineering Director, Chief Engineer and Module Center General Managers

Minimum: Engineering ACE Level C or UTC ACE Associate
7+ years related experience in manufacturing and engineering.
Background in Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Minitab, JMP, Crystall Ball, iSight and other statistical modeling and analysis tools.

Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills with demonstrated track record of accomplishment using ACE (or equivalent) tools.
