Instructional System Developer to join our team in Suffolk, VA.
The successful candidate will provide instructional design and development expertise in support of the Joint Staff Information Management Division Action Officer training efforts by developing and delivering, via classroom and internet-based courseware, action officer transition training, process and tools training, and any other applicable materials presented via the Internet or classroom. Such techniques include how to design and develop multimedia applications, systems and products involving computer graphics and interactive computing such as computer-based systems for personal computers or CD-ROM applications. Incorporates software applications in multiple technology media systems, such as graphics, animation, text, and sound. Employee will draw from a wide range of sources such as knowledge management, information management, military policy, joint and service doctrine, service missions, war plans, lessons learned and simulations, and joint military subject matter experts to develop and deliver this training.
Minimum Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
• Requires two to four (2-4) years experience instructing in a classroom setting
• Strong writing skills with the ability to translate information into instructional content
• Excellent and well founded, written and oral communication skills are absolutely essential
• Knowledge and/or proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel
• Strong information gathering skills ranging from researching documents to interviewing subject matter experts
• Ability to translate written concepts into visual representations with a strong understanding of Instructional Systems Development (ISD) Process
• Minimum of 2-4 years in the design and development of content for computer-based and/or web-based instruction using the instructional systems development (ISD) process
Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret level security clearance to be selected. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
• Excellent follow-up and organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills are a plus.
• Knowledge of SCORM requirements, standards and implementation is a strong plus.
• Experience in training military & civilian personnel via computer-based and web-based applications is very desirable.
