Manager of Environmental, Health & Safety - Rockford Site
Hamilton Sundstrand is among the largest global suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and industrial products. Manage and lead the EH&S function for the Rockford, Illinois campus. Represents the Rockford site on the Hamilton Sundstrand EH&S Council Chaired by HS VP EH&S. Leads, directs and manages the Site EH&S department of 6 professionals and 3 direct labor waste handlers. Responsibilities include ensuring EH&S regulatory compliance as mandated by Federal, State and Local regulations, UTC EH&S Standard Practices, air, water and waste permit compliance, incident response plans, OSHA recordkeeping and all other EH&S related regulations. Manager EH&S is responsible for budget planning and performance, strategic planning, program evaluation, defining Business Unit EH&S training requirements and management of workers' Compensation.
Key job duties include:
-Ensuring robust processes of Assessment, Prevention and Control are followed.
-Ensuring serious incidents are investigated following the TapRoot process and root causes are identified and controlled.
-Ensuring risks and hazards are properly controlled.
-Advising Business Unit managers on their annual training plans, annual EH&S Action Plans, and metric reporting requirements.
-Participating in Assurance Review and Program Evaluations at Rockford sites and other HS sites as requested.
-Strong communication, leadership, technical and interpersonal skills are required.
-Strong analytical skills and creative problem solving are a must.
-Proven skill in leading a cross functional team, influencing senior management and operations and achieving desired results in a timely manner is required.
-Experience in leading ergonomic evaluations and implementing controls are preferred.
