Job Summary: The Pharmacy Manager - Clinical Services is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and monitoring clinical pharmacy practice and services at FMLH. He/she will oversee the daily activities of the department including, but not limited to supervision of decentralized clinical pharmacy teams, training of students and residents and will help set the strategic direction for the department of Pharmacy.
The Pharmacy Manager will work together with other Hospital clinicians to define and develop clinical practice as it relates to pharmacy and the improvement of patient care. Collaboration with other department managers will be required to develop and implement new clinical pharmacy services and to ensure the integration of pharmaceutical care throughout the Hospital.
Education: BS or Pharm. D. degree received from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years Hospital pharmacy experience or completion of an ASHP accredited pharmacy practice residency and advanced degree. Experience in development of new clinical systems and improvement initiatives in areas of clinical pharmacy practice.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Displays a thorough understanding of pharmacology and therapeutics, acquired through a combination of school and experience, in order to recommend appropriate and patient specific therapeutic regimens and subsequently monitor outcomes. Ability to successfully work in an interdisciplinary (or team) environment. Ability to communicate clearly, both in written and verbal mode.
