Manufacturing Engineering Co-op
Hamilton Sundstrand is among the largest global suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and industrial products. We design and manufacture aerospace systems for commercial, regional, corporate and military aircraft and are a major supplier for international space programs. Our industrial products serve industries ranging from hydrocarbon, chemical and food processing to construction and mining.
Note: This position is for the June 2012 through December 2012 term.
Support plant site initiatives, projects, and activities including application of Lean Manufacturing, ACE, DOE, and discipline specific concepts through:
- Process improvement or problem solving projects related to Aerospace component manufacturing, assembly, and test, quality, environmental health & safety (EH&S), manufacturing engineering, materials science, maintenance, and other business functions
- Development of innovative new solutions to support process robustness and operational excellence
- Design of processes and systems to improve plant site quality and\or reduce waste
- Project management and\or project engineering
- Participation in cross-functional project teams
- Giving formal project presentations to plant site management

- Student must be enrolled in campus Co-op program at a 4-year university/college and meet the requirements for full-time student status.
- Minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA required
- Completion of at least 30 credit hours including at least two semesters of calculus and one semester of physics or chemistry. Experience or completion of coursework in statistics recommended. - Must be a U.S. Citizen or have Permanent Resident status (due to U.S. Government contract requirements).
